Consider corruption of oil, mining money

I would like to state my support for Ballot Measure 3, and give some of my reasons. Please recall the incessant full-page ads in the newspapers for Ted Stevens, Don Young and Lisa Murkowski when she stood for election to the seat her daddy gave her. Consider the huge amounts of oil company money those ads represent, and you begin to understand the real reason our federal legislators tend to be elected for life.

I know it isn't because they are nice guys or show any respect for individual Alaskans. It is because the industrial interests have made it their business to keep these people in office. When you take into consideration the wave of corruption currently being revealed in our state Legislature, and the tons of big mining money being spent to influence our ballot initiative on clean water, it becomes clear that we must quit allowing oil and mining interests to control our elections with their vast amounts of money. Vote for Clean Elections!
