Talk of Alaska: Clean Elections

Tue, December 18, 2007
Posted in Talk of Alaska

Alaska's appetite for political reform could result in public funding for election campaigns. There's a move to put it on the ballot and the deadline for signatures is approaching. They call it the "clean elections" measure, and they point out it's completely voluntary - it does not violate the U.S. Constitution's First Amendment guarantee of freedom of expression.

GUESTS:

  1. §  Tim June, sponsor of Alaska's "Clean Elections" ballot measure
  2. §  Vic Fisher, member of Alaska's original Constitutional Convention and political gadfly
  3. §  Live callers statewide
